Raste Pyar Ke is family drama released in February 1982. It was produced and directed by V. B. Rajendra Prasad, who is well-known in the South film industry. Since Jeetandra had enjoyed a good rapport with directors from the south, he was the obvious choice for the movie. To play his heroines, the director cast Rekha and Shabana Azmi. Other characters included Shreeram Lagoo and Utpal Dutta.
