BBC Arabic is an Arabic-language radio station. It was launched in 1938 and was the first foreign-language service of the BBC World Service. The programmes of BBC Arabic are broadcast on the mediumwave and shortwave throughout the Middle East and north Africa. FM broadcasting is available for some areas.
