Safar is a film made from a Bengali novel by Ashutosh Mukherjee. It starred Rajesh Khanna, Sharmila Tagore, Ashok Kumar, I. S. Johar, and Feroz Khan in lead roles. It is about two medical students liking and sympathizing with each other. One is suffering from cancer and hence wants to avoid getting into a marital nuptial with the other. When the girl is married, her husband commits suicide believing that she stills likes her friend. His wife is then charged for abetting suicide.
