Udaan is a film inspired from a real-life episode of Anurag Kashyap, who is one of the co-producer of the movie. It is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. It earned 30 crores in 2010 despite being a low-budget film. It was also acclaimed by critics. Amit Trivedi showed great maturity in handling the music and singing the songs for the movie.
