Upkar is a cult classic written, directed and acted in by Manoy Kumar. It was a superhit movie of 1967 that showed the contrasting nature of Indian and Western cultures. The film started Manoj Kumar’s brand of patriotism. It also gave Pran his first positive role, and he excelled in it brilliantly.
