Utsav – Mann Kyon Bahaka Ree Bahaka Aadhee Raat Ko Song Lyrics

Utsav is an adaptation of a Sanskrit play “Daridra-Charudatta” by Bhasa set during the 2nd Century CE. The film was directed by Girish Karnad and produced by Shashi Kapoor. It starred Rekha, Shekhar Suman, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Anuradha Patel, Amjad Khan, and Shashi Kapoor in lead roles. Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s music in the film is still praised. The duet song “Mann Kyun Behka re Behka Aadhi Raat Ko…” by Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeshkar is a great example of the prowess of Indian classical music.
